Who we are
PDF Hub is operated by Darko Gorichanac, a natural person based in Slovenia.
For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Darko Gorichanac is the data controller for the processing described in this Privacy Policy.
Contact email: info@pdfhub.org
For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, the entity identified above is the controller of personal data processed through PDF Hub.
Scope of This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how PDF Hub processes information when you:
- visit www.pdfhub.org;
- use the PDF-processing tools provided through api.pdfhub.org;
- choose whether to allow website analytics;
- contact us by email;
- otherwise interact with PDF Hub.
This Privacy Policy applies to the public website, the PDF-processing service, website analytics, technical and security logs, and support communications.
It does not apply to third-party websites or services that may be linked from PDF Hub. Those services have their own privacy policies and processing practices.
PDF Files You Upload
When you use a PDF Hub tool, the files you select are transmitted to our processing server through an encrypted HTTPS connection.
Uploaded files are processed automatically and only for the purpose of carrying out the operation you requested, such as:
- merging PDF files;
- splitting a PDF;
- compressing a PDF;
- converting PDF pages to images;
- adding a watermark;
- converting a PDF to a Word document.
We do not use the contents of uploaded files for advertising, marketing, profiling, website analytics, artificial-intelligence training, or any unrelated purpose.
PDF Hub does not routinely open or manually review uploaded files.
Please do not upload files containing information that is not necessary for the requested operation. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload and process the content contained in your files.
Temporary storage and deletion
Uploaded files and generated output files are stored only temporarily while the requested operation is being performed and the result is being returned to you.
During normal operation, temporary files are deleted after the request is completed. Automated cleanup mechanisms are also used to remove residual temporary files that may remain following an interrupted or failed request.
Temporary upload and output directories are excluded from PDF Hub’s scheduled system backups. Uploaded files and generated results are therefore not intentionally included in regular backup archives.
PDF Hub is not a file-storage or document-archiving service. You should download and retain any result that you wish to keep.
Your responsibility for uploaded content
You are responsible for ensuring that:
- you have the right to upload and process the file;
- processing the file does not violate the rights of another person;
- you have an appropriate legal basis where the file contains personal data relating to another person;
- the file does not contain unlawful or prohibited material.
Please avoid uploading highly sensitive information unless using an online processing service is appropriate for your circumstances.
Information We Process
Information contained in uploaded files
A file may contain personal data or other information chosen by the person uploading it.
PDF Hub processes this information only as technically necessary to perform the requested operation. The content is not extracted or reused for unrelated purposes.
Technical and security information
When you access PDF Hub, our hosting, web server, reverse proxy, application, and security systems may process technical information necessary to deliver and protect the service.
This information may include:
- IP address and network information;
- date and time of the request;
- requested URL and request method;
- response status;
- browser or user-agent information;
- operating-system and device information available in the request;
- referral information;
- error messages;
- information indicating automated scanning, abuse, or suspicious activity.
This information may be processed to:
- deliver website content and tool results;
- diagnose technical errors;
- maintain service availability;
- prevent misuse and automated abuse;
- investigate security incidents;
- protect PDF Hub, its infrastructure, and its users.
PDF tool diagnostic information
Our application may record limited technical events relating to use of a PDF tool, such as:
- which tool endpoint was requested;
- whether processing succeeded or failed;
- response status;
- processing time;
- technical error information;
- information necessary to diagnose service failures.
We do not intentionally record uploaded file contents in website analytics or application logs.
We also do not intentionally send uploaded filenames, PDF contents, form values, or generated documents to Google Analytics.
Google Analytics
PDF Hub uses Google Analytics 4, or GA4, to understand how visitors use the public website and to improve its performance, usability, and reliability.
Our Google Analytics Measurement ID is:
G-ZZLH653Y98
Google Analytics is optional and disabled by default.
The Google Analytics script is loaded only after you select Accept analytics in the consent banner. If you select Reject analytics, the Google Analytics script is not loaded, analytics cookies are not created, and PDF Hub does not send cookieless Analytics events to Google.
Information collected after consent
If you accept analytics, GA4 may process information such as:
- pages viewed and page titles;
- date and time of visits;
- referral source;
- scroll activity;
- outbound link clicks;
- approximate country or region;
- general browser category;
- general operating-system category;
- general device category;
- pseudonymous client and session identifiers.
PDF Hub does not use GA4 User-ID and does not intentionally send names, email addresses, uploaded filenames, document contents, or other directly identifying information to GA4.
Privacy-restrictive configuration
PDF Hub has configured GA4 with privacy-restrictive settings.
In particular:
- Google Signals is disabled;
- advertising personalisation is disabled;
- advertising storage is denied;
- Google Ads is not linked for remarketing;
- granular location and device-data collection is disabled;
- personalised advertising is not used;
- site-search tracking is disabled;
- video-engagement tracking is disabled;
- automatic file-download tracking is disabled;
- automatic form-interaction tracking is disabled.
PDF Hub uses Analytics only for general website measurement and service improvement, not for targeted advertising or cross-site advertising profiles.
IP-address processing
As part of normal internet communication, Google receives the IP address from which an Analytics request is made.
Google states that Google Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses. For traffic from the European Union, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, the IP address is used temporarily to derive coarse geographical information and is then discarded before Analytics data is logged.
Google’s role
Google Analytics is provided by:
Google Ireland Limited
Gordon House
Barrow Street
Dublin 4
Ireland
For Google Analytics processing carried out on our behalf under Google’s applicable data-processing terms, Google acts as a processor and PDF Hub remains the controller responsible for deciding whether and how Analytics is used.
Cookies and Local Storage
PDF Hub does not use advertising cookies.
Consent preference
PDF Hub uses browser local storage to remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics.
The following local-storage key is used:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
pdfhub_analytics_consent_v1 | PDF Hub local storage | Remembers whether analytics was accepted or rejected. | Until you change the preference or clear website data in your browser |
The value contains only either granted or denied. It is not used to identify you and is not sent to Google.
If local storage is unavailable, your preference may apply only temporarily and the consent banner may be displayed again.
Google Analytics cookies
The following cookies may be created only after you select Accept analytics:
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Default duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Stores a pseudonymous client identifier used to distinguish visitors. | Up to 2 years |
_ga_ZZLH653Y98 | Google Analytics | Maintains session state for the PDF Hub GA4 property. | Up to 2 years |
Browser privacy controls may shorten these durations.
Administrator cookies
WordPress may set strictly necessary authentication, security, session, and preference cookies for authorised administrators who sign in to manage the website.
Public visitor registration and public comments are disabled. These administrator cookies are not used to track ordinary public visitors for analytics or advertising.
Managing or Withdrawing Analytics Consent
You may accept or reject analytics when the consent banner is first displayed.
You may change your selection at any time by selecting:
Cookie Settings
in the website footer.
Selecting Reject analytics:
- records your choice as denied;
- prevents Google Analytics from loading on future page views;
- disables Analytics collection through the PDF Hub GA4 tag;
- removes available PDF Hub
_gacookies from your browser.
You may also remove cookies and local-storage values through your browser settings. If you clear PDF Hub website data, the consent banner will normally be displayed again on your next visit.
Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing performed before consent was withdrawn.
Contact and Support Emails
If you contact us at info@pdfhub.org, we process the information you choose to provide.
This may include:
- your email address;
- your name, if provided;
- the subject and contents of your message;

- related correspondence.
We use this information to:
- respond to your question;

Please do not send confidential PDF files, passwords, identification documents, financial records, medical information, or other highly sensitive material by email.

Where processing is based on legitimate interests, we consider the necessity of the processing and its impact on the rights and interests of affected individuals.
Service Providers and Recipients
PDF Hub may use trusted service providers that process limited information where necessary to operate and protect the service.
These may include:
- website and VPS hosting providers;

International Data Transfers
PDF Hub’s main website hosting and PDF-processing infrastructure are intended to operate within the European Economic Area.
Google Analytics is provided through Google Ireland Limited, but Google operates infrastructure and group companies internationally. Analytics information may therefore be processed in, accessed from, or transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area.
Where required, Google states that it relies on applicable transfer safeguards, which may include:
- adequacy decisions;
- the EU–US Data Privacy Framework;
- Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission;
- supplementary contractual, organisational, and technical measures.
Other service providers may also process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, PDF Hub will use an appropriate transfer mechanism where required by applicable law.
Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Uploaded files
Uploaded files are deleted after the requested operation is completed during normal processing.
Automated cleanup is used to remove residual temporary files following failed or interrupted operations.
Generated output files
Generated files are deleted from temporary server storage after the request is completed and the result is returned.
Scheduled backups
Temporary upload and output directories are excluded from scheduled system backups. Uploaded files and generated results are not intentionally archived.
Technical and security logs
Technical and security logs are retained only for the period reasonably necessary for:
- troubleshooting;
- service monitoring;
- abuse prevention;
- security-incident investigation;
- compliance with legal obligations.
Retention is managed through log rotation and operational cleanup. Information relevant to a security incident or legal claim may be kept for longer where necessary.
Google Analytics
User-level and event-level GA4 data retention is configured for 14 months, with the option to reset the retention period upon new user activity disabled.
Google’s GA4 retention setting does not apply in the same way to standard aggregated Analytics reports, which may remain available for longer.
Analytics cookies
GA4 cookies may remain for up to two years after analytics consent is granted, unless:
- you withdraw consent;
- PDF Hub removes them;
- you clear them;
- your browser shortens their duration.
Consent preference
The local-storage consent preference remains until you change the selection or clear PDF Hub website data in your browser.
Support correspondence
Support emails are normally retained for up to 24 months after the last communication, unless longer retention is:
- required by law;
- necessary to investigate an ongoing security or technical issue;
- necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims.
Data Security
We use technical and organisational measures intended to protect information from accidental loss, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, misuse, or destruction.
These measures include, where applicable:
- encrypted HTTPS connections;
- restricted administrative access;
- network-access controls;
- firewall protection;
- container isolation;
- restricted exposure of internal services;
- application and infrastructure updates;
- resource and process limits;
- system monitoring;
- automated temporary-file deletion;
- scheduled backups of production configuration and website data;
- integrity checks for backup archives.
No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
You should avoid uploading highly sensitive documents where using an online processing service would create an unacceptable risk for you or another person.
Your Data-Protection Rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- request access to personal data concerning you;
- obtain a copy of personal data concerning you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
